The Fallout TV cast has been partially revealed, although Amazon hasn't revealed all the names of the characters or all their backstories yet. Fallout cast Yellowjackets star Ella Purnell as Lucy, a young woman who will venture into the wasteland. The teaser makes it clear that Lucy is something of the protagonist, though she will share the spotlight with Walton Goggins' character, The Ghoul, a gunslinging wastelander with a sharp wit. Goggins' ghoul will be different from the regular Ghouls of the gaming series because he won't be the typical, zombie-like, villain gamers are used to.

What Happens In The Wasteland?

The Fallout TV series is set in Los Angeles around Vault 33 and will take place in the game's time period, meaning at some point between 2102 and 2287 in the alternate retro-futurist timeline. The Fallout TV show won't be drawing from the original game narrative save for the setting itself. Rather, Amazon is crafting an entirely original plot centering around a survivor named Lucy who ventures out into the post-apocalypse for the first time.

The release of the first Fallout TV series teaser trailer finally gave fans their first look at the show and how closely it follows the visuals of the games. Lucy is introduced as a naive vault-dweller who decides to venture out into the wasteland for the first time, only to discover a terrifying new world of monsters and mayhem. Walton Goggins' The Ghoul is featured prominently in the trailer as well, and it's clear he isn't the typical zombie-like ghouls found in the rest of the Fallout universe.

A few months later, an official full trailer for Fallout was also released which offers even closer looks at major details from the games. Though the bulk of the trailer is dedicated to Walton Goggins' gunslinging ghoul, it also shows off the Brotherhood of Steel with a bit more clarity, as well as beloved images like the Vault Boy statues.
