The term 'Gudi' refers to a decorated flag or cloth adorned with flowers, neem leaves, and a kalash (pot), which is hoisted outside homes as a symbol of victory and auspiciousness.
How do we celebrate it?

The day begins with the preparation of the Gudi, which is put on a bamboo stick and decorated with vibrant decorations. It is then hoisted outside homes, symbolizing the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and signifying the onset of a prosperous year ahead.

Families come together to perform prayers and seek blessings for a fruitful year. Traditional sweets like Puran Poli and Shrikhand are prepared to add sweetness to the

What is the Subh Muhurat?
According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious Pratipada Tithi for Gudi Padwa 2024 commences at 23:50 PM on April 8 and concludes at 20:30 PM on April 9. It is believed that on this day, the Samvatsara – the cycle of sixty years – begins, ushering in a new era filled with hope, prosperity, and opportunities. The sixty years are identified by unique names, each carrying its own significance and symbolism.
