The Gators notch a 5-4 win over NC State on Monday afternoon to stay alive in Omaha. Florida's outing was highlighted by Jac Caglianone's 3-run home run in the second inning. Cags was intentionally walked in his two-at bats following the homer. Reliever Brandon Neely earned the win on the bump, pitching three innings, striking out six, and only allowing one walk and one hit.
The Gators will next face the loser of βwhich is up next at 7 p.m. ET.

Tyler Shelnut hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth for Florida. In the bottom, Garrett Pennington doubled to left field, scored by a Brandon Butterworth double. Florida leads by 1, 5-4, going into the sixth.

On one up and no outs, NC State's Alec Makarewicz ripped a 2-RBI homer to left field to bring the Wolfpack's deficit to one (4-3).Makarewicz has homered in five of his last six contests.

UF's Cade Kurland knotted the score at 1-1 with a sac fly to left field, plating Dale Thomas in the top of the second inning. Next to bat, Jac Caglianone homered to right center with a 116 MPH exit velocity, scoring three more. The Gators nab the lead, 4-1, in the second.

Florida LHP and two-way star Jac Caglianone posted a rocky start on the bump, hitting a batter by pitch and walking two for NC State to load the bases. Brandon Butterworth then singled to left field, drawing in Garrett Pennington for the Wolfpack's first score. NC State finishes the first inning on top, 1-0.

Day 4οΈβ£ | Bracket 2 action continues
Yesterday, the first team was eliminated from the Men's College World Series as Florida State took down Virginia 7-3 to send the Cavaliers home. Tennessee continued to take care of business, downing North Carolina 6-1 to advance to Bracket 1's semifinal.
Today, Bracket 2's picture becomes a little clearer. First, Florida and NC State will meet with elimination on the line. Then, Kentucky and Texas A&M will battle for the second MCWS semifinal spot.

βοΈ Tennessee takes down UNC
Tennessee held North Carolina to just one run,WinningGame 6 of the MCWS 6-1to advance to the MCWS semifinals. The highlight of Sunday's showdown was a 3-run homer in the bottom of the fourth from Kavares Tears. UNC managed to belt a homer in the top of the sixth, but it wasn't enough to counter Tennessee's hot bats and dominant pitching.

UNC's Vance Honeycutt shifts the momentum to North Carolina, slamming a home run to left center. The Volunteers were able to stifle UNC's other scoring opportunities in the inning, tagging out Anthony Donofrio stealing second and stranding Casey Cook at third. Tennessee leads in the middle of the 6th, 4-1.

π€ FSU eliminates Virginia
The Seminoles finished Virginia off with a double play, winning Game 5 of the MCWS 7-3. Two jacks from Jaime Ferrer highlighted the Sunday afternoon outing. Ferrer's 3-run homer in the fifth inning was the difference-maker, putting the Noles up 6-0. The Hoos scored thrice in the last three innings, but not enough to muff the Seminoles' lead.
