At the beginning of the guitar-learning journey, everyone starts with basic open chords that don’t require a lot of muscle strength and skills. The lack of songs the entry-level player knows to play can make him/her desperate and demotivating.
G major, C major, and D major are three basic chords that every beginner learns first. Transitions between these three chords are easy and don’t require fingers to move that much, as everything happens on the first three guitar frets.
There is a significant number of songs that use only these three chords. That helps the beginner enrich the repertoire. Even if you are a newbie, you can be the star of the night among your friends by playing only three chords.
