Digging through a bunch or quarters today, I found this one to be wider than all the other "ES" gaps. Please let me know if you think it is type A or B.

It doesn't look wide enough for the '56 - '64 Type-B. What year is it? You have a full shot of the reverse?

The coin is very dark, so this is about the best I can do on an image. Possibly type C on this 1964-D with a wider gap than I am seeing on others same date/mint?

The details are so hard to read, that I can't tell with the other PUPs if it's a C or not. Maybe you'll have better luck in-hand.

type B's have the leaf extend above the arrow tips and found in proof and some later silver Philadelphia (1956-1964). Type Bs doo not occur in Denver quarters.

Thanks. The wide space is what seamed odd to me.

It is a type A reverse that you have, at least as far as I can tell from the pic. Type B reverse are on Philadelphia minted quarters only. Unless it is a 1964 D it can not be a type c reverse either.

    Not a type b

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

The type C reverses are what is seen on the 1965 reverses

I find the best pickup points are around the tail-feathers
-the tail-feathers are boxy and raised tips with line down centers
-there are also leafs that are complete and touching underneath arrows
-the leaf on the right is complete and to the top of the arrow quivers

    I do not think gunnr88's is a type c

Is there a single site that shows all the PUPs on the b and c reverses?

@Gunnr88 The last picture of the1964-D you posted and listed as a Type C reverse is incorrect. It is a common reverse. @davewesen photo is a type C reverse.

I think that your quarter has a type A personality.

There were some good threads in the old forums. I can not figure out the search good enough to find them.

Grab a silver 1937-1964 proof quarter - they have type B reverses
Grab a 1965 quarter - they have type C reverses
grab a silver Denver quarter - they have type A reverses

    compare the similarities and differences.
